Jewelry Making: What is the correct term for the small piece of metal that has a stop on one end?
It is just straight on the other end. You would put your bead (or beads) on it and form a loop on the other end so that it can dangle.
It looks pretty much like a straight pin without the point.
Worst come to worst I will use straight pins but they are harder to bend to form a loop.
Thanks so Much, Susan L. That is exactly what I was looking for. Will give you 10 points as soon as the time has passed so I can do it.
They are called head pins and can be found in craft stores. The reason they are easy to bend is that they are made from sterling silver, a very flexible metal.
Here are some types of head pins, just to be sure we are talking about the same thing:

Madeleine Albright talks about her pins on exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution
“Read My Pins: The Madeleine Albright Collection” features more than 200 pins, many of which former U.S. Secretary of State Madelein Albright wore to communicate messages during her diplomatic tenure. The exhibit examines the collection for its historic significance and the expressive power of jewelry and its ability to communicate through a style and language of its own.

Found some old jewelry with writing on it?
I found this old pin, in the shape of a U, that reads "Eintracht" along it. It’s silver and tarnished, and only about an inch tall. Does anyone know what it means, or what it could stand for?
:3 thankyou
Eintracht is German, it is a German sports club in Frankfurt, best known for it’s football team (soccer). Other than that, you got me. HTH

DIY Hair Accessories. Need to know how to make rhinestone hair pins- Any suggestions?
I really like DIY stuff. I don’t like how expensive this wedding hair jewelry is. I want to make single rhinestone hairpins for my bridesmaids. Five at david’s bridal is $15 dollars a set. I figure I can do better than that. Has anyone ever made hair jewelry? Do I have to sauder everything? I don’t want them to look cheap, but I don’t want to pay $75 for little hair pins. Any advice?
I got my bridemaid’s rhinestone hair pins from "Claire’s". You know, one of those cheapy jewelry stores in the mall? Try a place like that. – I think I only paid $4 to $5 dollard for a whole set, & they were very pretty. (Sorry, I don’t know how to make them!)
