Bobby Pins ? How can i embelish them?

I would like to decorate and personalize my bobby pins. there is never many choices when buying them. i would like to add feathers, ribbon, jewels and stuff like that. Any web sites of how to do this would help or tips on what glues & bobby pins to use for doing this.

Cancer supporting ribbons/shirts/pins, etc…(specifically lung cancer)?

Last Monday my grandfather got diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer and my family and I are still having a difficult time letting it sink in. He is only 63 years old and although that may sound old, he had more energy than me and I’m only 21! Anyway, the hospital gave him a silver bracelet that says "Expect Miracles". My grandpa knew that out of my whole family, I was hit the hardest by his diagnosis – me and him are very close, I’m scared, and I don’t want to lose him. I know it sounds selfish, but I’m not ready to let him go yet. He gave me the bracelet, and I’m really touched by it and never want to take it off. I’d REALLY like to find some Lung Cancer Support stuff…ribbons, shirts, pins, bracelets, necklaces for me, my family, and him, to keep his spirits up in any way possible. I don’t want to order off the internet, I want to go find some in person. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I know the breast cancer stuff is everywhere, seems lung cancer is harder to find

I used to work in a hospital cancer research department – quite often even they have a hard time finding those things!
But what I would do is speak to the head nurse of the cancer support department. The American Lung Association has branches all over the country though – you might want to call them.

I have one – its grey.
You might want to go to a fabric store and buy a bolt of ribbon to make your own in the meantime.

My grandma is fighting Lung cancer. Ever since I was in the 4th grade(now Im in 11th almost 12th). I want a ribbon pin . Where can I buy them? I know online but any stores have them. Just curious?
I see them on the internet. They do exist just hard to find I guess,
We are very close and my parents know that it hit me the hardest. Whenever my mom told my it was back I would always cry. Even in the 4th grade I took it hard.

You can buy them at www.zazzle.com and you can even create one there yourself -if one isnt already made. I am sure there is one.

How to make a Korker Bow

I’ve been making bows for about 3 months now so I’m not perfect, but this is how I make a korker bow. I hope this helps some of you who want to learn how to make a korker bow.

Preheat oven to 275
Bake for 25 mins(oven times may vary depending on oven)

Things you need
-3/8 ribbon of your choice
-1/4 wooden dowel
-wooden clothes pins
-needle
-thread
-baking pan

Missing pin on motherboard ribbon slot?

Alright, so here’s the scoop. I’ve had this Acer T160 for a long time and in that time I moved my older 100GB Maxtor HDD in there for extra space. I used a ribbon from my old PC which has 39 pins and the HDD has 39 Pins on it as well.. It may of had 40 Pins but too late for that now, gone more then a year without a pin it may of had. (The ribbon has 1 blocked off pin spot) Anyways, when I plugged this ribbon into the motherboard it pushed one of my 40 pins down or something because there is a empty spot where a pin should have been and it’s been that way for a long time and I recently was moveing cables and pushed down a pin in my 2nd ribbon slot trying to make certain things work and I don’t know why but it just clicked on me that "Oh shit, their is a pin missing" and then "Oh shit this ribbon only has 39 pin slots."

Is this a problem? Right now my CD-DVD Drive, ExtraHDD, and mother board ribbon all have 39 pins rather then 40.

Short answer: no problem at all.

Long answer: it’s probably the NC (No Connect or Not Connected) pin you’re missing.

That pin is missing for a reason: the slot misses the pin exactly where the cable connector misses a hole (if it only has 39 holes), so there is only one way to plug in the cable. There are also slightly different methods to prevent mis-plugging the cable, so not every system lacks a 40th pin, and not every cable lacks a 40th hole.

How To Do This:
1. Put dry hair in high ponytail (all depending on how high you want the bow to be)
2. Tie a second hair tie around another part of the pony tail (the father apart from the first, the bigger the bow will be)
3. The area in between the two hair ties is going to be the area for the bow (split the area in half, for two sides of the bow)
4. Pin down the excess hair below bottom hair tie with a bobby pin (this is going to be the middle part of the bow)
5. Pin down the split area between the two hair ties with two bobby pins on each side (so it stays put)
6. Pull the excess hair from before into the front, and then clip that down in front of the bow (like I said, this is the middle part)
7. Now you’re going to fold that excess hair behind the bow (again pin that to the back of the hair)
8. Hairspray for extra strength, or if any loose hairs are seen

Is there a campagin ribbon for birth control programs?

In my opinion one of the most fundamental things we can do as a society is expand access to birth control. Countries that have free birth control programs (including free OB/GYN visits to get birth control perscriptions) have the lowest teen pregnancy rates, AND the lowest abortion rates. I belive this is the kind of program we should have in the U.S. Now people dont exactly have to agree with the program I described but most Americans do want more public funding going to birth control related programs, so I was wondering if we could somehow make a ribbon for this like the Breast Cancer and AIDS ribbons. Ideally when I figure out how the ribbon should look, I would make a pin on cafepress.com that has the ribbon in the middle and the words SUPPORT ACCESS TO BIRTH CONTROL! written around it in a circular fashion.. I am very insightful about this and I will wear the pin proudly, but I have no idea how the ribbon should look so please let me know what you think….

The best way to support this idea is to support Planned Parenthood. You can make financial contributions as well as take political action. A ribbon is a passive sign of support, which is nice to have. Active support is needed, too.
