Does anyone have any comments, suggestion or requests?

Thank you for your time.

If you are into pin trading it’s one of the best. Pin trading is a very big thing with a lot of Disney fans. I’m not a big pin trader, I will pick them up if they catch my eyes.

I know when we go to Disney we are seeing more and more people participating in this hobby.

Friendly pin-trading at DisneyLand?

Posted on June 19th, 2010 by admin in trading pins | 4 Comments »

My 9 y/o daughter and I enjoy trading pins at D.L. However, when we approach other guests who have their pin bags out and displayed for trading, they often are aloof and will barely even speak. We are not pro-traders, but have a collection of about 500 pins. We follow ettiquette and are always polite. It seems like there are defined cliques. Anyway we can get ‘in’ ?

I noticed the same thing at Disneyland. I found that trading with cast members was a much better way to go then trading with other people. However, if you feel like you want to trade with other people, look for those who are wearing the lanyards with pins on them. Those tend to be their "willing to trade pins". The best time to trade with other people is when you are standing in line, like waiting for a ride, they are bored, bored, bored, and willing to trade. Many times, those carrying around the pin bags are into "stashing" and they aren’t into trading. This is not everyone, just what I have noticed.

Disney Pin Trading??

Posted on June 16th, 2010 by admin in trading pins | 8 Comments »

Our family is going to Disney in three weeks, and my baby brother (he’s not that baby, 11 years old) and I have always wanted to do the pin trading since it started (all those years ago). Our parents have finally said we could, if we play for most of our pins. So, I was wonder if it would be better/cheaper to buy a big lot from ebay or each of us buy a starter set when we get to Downtown Disney (our first night)? I am more worried about the pins not being trade-able if we buy them on ebay. What should we do??

Oh, and any tips/ stuff not on Disney’s website about pin trading would be great. We are so excited about doing this!! I think we are actually more excited about trading pins than going on the rides (I know, sad)! (For now anyway, it will change in a few days, than change back)

Thanks For Everything!!

First of all, a starter set at Disney will have 4 pins and cost about $25.00. For that same money, you can get more if you watch the websites- yes Ebay is one. but also try www.disneyshopping.com , you can sometimes find pins there fairly reasonable.

Pins at the parks are usually $6.95 & UP. I usually buy a bunch of pins from one of the Disney sites, such as DisneyPinTrading.com. Keep searching for some of the cheapest ones, take those with you to the parks and trade with cast members. Other guests would want to trade more expensive pins. Also, watch for cast members with green lanyards, they are only allowed to trade with kids!

Have fun!!

When did Disney pin trading and collecting start?? And where?

Posted on June 8th, 2010 by admin in trading pins | 4 Comments »

Disney pin trading itself has been going on for a while, but the current "Official Disney Pin Traders" pin trading started in the year 2000 at Walt Disney World. Pins were passed out at the parks before 2000 and available for sale, but never traded with Disney cast members officially. Since 2000, and the massive gain in popularity Disney Pin Trading is now available at all Disney Parks(with the exception of a recent suspension in Hong Kong because of counterfeit pins).

Where are the best places to trade pins in Disney World?

Posted on June 5th, 2010 by admin in trading pins | 5 Comments »

where are the best places to trade pins in Disney world and what parks? I’m going to Disney World for the first time, and I love to pin trade. I would like to know which parks have the best trading and where in those parks if possible.I’ve been to Disneyland many times and know where the best places to trade pins are etc, however it will be a whole different thing in Florida. :) Thanks in advance!
thanks! everyone had really helpful info!

Downtown Disney & Epcot. Both have round tables set up for pin trading. Downtown Disney’s Pin trading in is their pin store – it’s a round tent near the Christmas Shop & Art of Disney. In Epcot – there is a central Pin store in Future World in the middle near the fountain. It’s just on the other side of the board where they update the wait times. Not sure where it is in the countries. I know they have pin booths – but not sure about pin trading in the countries.
