(B) men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold the headdress at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart; and
(C) individuals in uniform should give the military salute at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until the last note; and
(2) when the flag is not displayed, all present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed.

Well, ClassicFIHD, …
Well, ClassicFIHD, congrats on at least not perpetuating the deliberate lie that Obama didn’t put his hand on his heart while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
As for the anthem, your hands belong at your sides, or clasped in front of you as Obama did. Look it up if you can’t remember. The anthem is to SING, dodo.
Bob Schieffer, a …
Bob Schieffer, a classy journalist and good human being. Speaking common sense as always. He’s of a dying breed in journalism, and its a shame.
He said he chooses …
He said he chooses not to wear one on a regular basis… I know I have seen Obama wearing one here and there over the last six months. Moreover, you are ignoring the reason he decided to stop wearing it daily… he said that flag worship and other nationalist symbolic stuff like that (ie bumper magnets) have taken the place of TRUE patriotism. An assertion I think most people would hard to deny.
RobertSeattle,
…
RobertSeattle,
But they have never said they would not wear the pin where Obama did make the statement “I will not wear one of those pins”. Clearly a big difference. The question is why does he refuse to wear it even if it stops the controversy? Possibly the same reason he didn’t put his hand over his heart during the Anthem? Rev. Wright “God America” influence comes to mind.
McCain often goes …
McCain often goes without wearing a Flag Pin as well – what a scandal!
The funniest thing was when the right wingers go on TV complaining about Obama not wearing a Flag Pin… and they weren’t wearing Flag Pins – idiots!
It’s especially …
It’s especially amusing when these uber-patriots wear Flag Pins made in China…
Well then vote for …
Well then vote for McCain, what can I say. I hope that– unlike the vast majority of Americans– the Bush years have been good for you, but more of that is what he’ll give us.
“patriotism in the …
“patriotism in the form of aggressive foreign policy”
In order for that to apply to Obama he has to have a long history of aggressive foreign policy performance and to date he has none.
You don’t claim something before you have proven you earned it. So far he is only talk.
You should look up …
You should look up the word ‘jingoism’ in a dictionary.
If the corporation …
If the corporation mandates you wear one then you do. I went to a Jewish service without a Yamika and I came out just fine. Your comment lacks substance…
So I guess the next …
So I guess the next corporate meeting I go to I don’t need a tie. Or the next time I go to jewish religious service I don’t need to wear a Yamika.
Amen!
