yeah, they are all made this way. And yeah, they’re hand painted and gold plated. The gold plating is super thin – many very cheap gold colored things are gold plated, just think how thin gold leaf is.

I don’t think all lapel pins are made like this. Maybe the more expensive ones, but there’s no way that those fifty cent Chinese ones are hand painted with gold plating.
